Sacraments
The purpose of the Sacraments is to celebrate sacred ceremonies that brings us closer to God. Each sacrament requires preparation with the priest.

MARRIAGE
In order to be married at St. Mary Church, either the bride or the groom should be one of the following:
1. A registered member of our parish;
A registered parishioner is considered to be a person who has completed a parish registration form or student resident registration form and who has participated actively in the faith life and community of our parish for at least a six month period prior to asking to be married in our church.
2. One who resides within the geographical boundaries of our parish;
3. A student, graduate or faculty member or staff member of Miami University
For serious pastoral reasons, we may make an exception to these guidelines, but only with the permission of the pastor of the Catholic parties. Catholic parties must be registered in a Catholic Church.
Under most circumstances, the Archdiocese of Cincinnati requires a six-month preparation period for all marriages. This gives the perspective couple time to complete the pre-marriage preparation programs offered by the Archdiocese and St. Mary’s Parish.

Adult/ RCIA - Christian Initiation

FIRST COMMUNION
Preparation program for youth and adults - - call the parish office for information and dates.
ANOINTING OF THE SICK
(Pastoral Care of the Sick, Anointing, Viaticum)
Notify the parish office to arrange for visitation/communion to home and health care institutions; for anointing in advance of surgery, for serious illness or hospitalization, and due to advance age or infirmity; and for visitation/communion (viaticum) to the dying.
CONFIRMATION
Preparation program for high school youth and adults - - call the parish office for information and dates.
HOLY ORDERS
Call the parish office to explore the possibility of a vocation to the ordained priesthood, diaconate, vowed religious life for women and men, or for information on lay pastoral ministry opportunities.
